Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need special hardware?
No special hardware required. DMX Screen works with any iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Just connect to your existing lighting network via Wi-Fi.
What consoles are supported?
DMX Screen works with any console that outputs sACN or Art-Net, including GrandMA, Hog, Eos, Blackout, and Luminair.
Are there any recurring fees?
No recurring fees whatsoever. Pay once and own DMX Screen forever, including all future updates.
Can I use it on multiple devices?
Yes! Your App Store purchase works across all your iOS and Mac devices with the same Apple ID.
What is "Local Mode"?
Local Mode allows you to control dimmer, CCT, tint, color, and crossfade using on-screen controls instead of DMX.
What about CRMX?
Unfortunately phones and computers are not able to receive wireless CRMX data due to hardware limitations.
What about Ethernet?
Yes, you can also send sACN or Art-Net data to DMX Screen over a wired Ethernet connection if that works better for your environment. Most Apple devices require Ethernet adapters.
How does the Wi-Fi work?
DMX Screen listens for sACN and Art-Net data over whichever Wi-Fi network your device is connected to. You'll need to include some kind of Wi-Fi AP or router in your lighting network.
What DMX profile does it use?
Use Astera Titan Tube Mode 89 when patching DMX Screen. It's a 7-channel, single pixel profile available on all major consoles. Parameters include: Dim, CCT, Tint, Crossfade, and RGB color.
